THE BENEFITS

Image
It's been a journey on the subject of “New Creation”. Today, we will be looking at the benefits of being a new creation. But first, let's take a recap of what it means to be a new creation. — Translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God's dear Son (Colossians 1) — Transformation in spirit and moral life — Passing from death to life (1 John 5:12) — Joined to Christ; the old is gone, and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17)  Now to the Benefits; When you become a new creation, you have: 1. *Access to the Holy Spirit and power* (Acts 1:8) 2. *Access to the hidden mysteries of God's kingdom* (Matthew 13:11) 3. *Production of spiritual gifts and fruit*:     - Spiritual gifts for edification of the church (1 Corinthians 12:1-7)     — Spiritual fruit (love, joy, peace, etc.) evident in one's life (Galatians 5:22) 4. *Boldness to stand for Christ and face life's challenges* 5. *Privilege to attain the spirit of sonship.* (Romans 8:12) *Prayer po...

THE EXPECTATIONS

Image
God did not change our body part or just touch a part of us at our rebirth. What he did was a reformation; he did not just republish us, He made us anew. A new creation is a total transformation that occurs when we belong to Christ. There's an identity we receive in Him when we are born again. What is expected of us as a new creation? 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 It is expected of us to make a positive difference in this world. Not just by proclamation of the words of our mouths, but by our lifestyle. We are called Christians because we are expected to live like Christ. What then, does a regenerated life expected to look like? • A light. Matthew 5:14-16  The world is earnestly waiting for the manifestation of light in their darkness. So we are expected to shine as the light that we are. The light is meant to let go of darkness. • Ambassador of Christ 2 Corinthians 5:20, Daniel 2:44  We are meant to represent Christ everywhere. • Fragrance  2 Corinthians 2:14-15 We are mean...

A NEW CREATION — THE POTTER'S ACTS

Image
Jeremiah 18:1-6, 2 Corinthians 5:17 Jeremiah was taken to the potter's house to learn some lessons. On arrival, the first vessel made was marred. So the potter remade it. God then asked him if He couldn't do the same with his life. God wants to make us than we would like to be made. He intends to make us to His will. Some of us are too stiff and rigid to be worked on. And Until we allow the potter, God to make us, we can't become a new creation. All He's saying in that scripture is, can you allow me to make you just as the potter does? God is ready to make you only when you're ready to submit to Him. There might have been many damages, brokenness and wounds, but you can only be amended when you have an encounter with Jesus, your maker. If Jesus did not make you, old things will still be there. Every man is a wicked soul except one who has met Jesus. Every man's brain is greedy, jealous, envy and selfish, only the Lord Jesus redefined man. Until you come in conta...

A NEW CREATION

Image
— 2 Cor 5:17 in our journey as new creation, we should understand that the word “new creation” came to be as a result of what happened in the garden of Eden. The creation; Adam, then, lost his place with God and died. So Jesus had to come in the New Testament to birth a new life. John 3:16 Jesus had to die for the new creation to be formed. 3 things constitute a New Creation: Death, Birth, and Resurrection of Jesus. For man to be born again, he has to believe in the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. He has to do away with his old ways; the sinful nature and not fulfill the desires of the flesh as found in Galatians 5:16-21. For the old life are written as the works of flesh. So the new life cannot be manifested if the flesh is still active. New life is created by God in us. Not inherited from our parents. John 1:13. Our continuous walk with Him makes the perfection of the new life to be manifested. We will do away with everything about our old life, when we come into the new lif...

THE NUMBER "8"

Image
Today, I bring you counsel from the Lord. And I would like to start by bringing to you the significance of the number 8.  It is known that the number 8 is the number of christening. A child is christened always on the 8th day just as it was with John the Baptist (Luke 1:59). Zachariah, John's father had lost his speech when John was born. So it was suggested that the child be named after his father on the 8th day, the christening day. But the mother said no, and declared that the child's name shall be John! There's a connection between your name and your destiny. Jesus in Luke 2:21 was given a name as received of the angel before conception on the 8th day. When you hear people's name, you could almost tell their destiny. You can possibly tell where they are coming from and where they are going. Some people have been named wrongly which has affected their destiny.  John would have been christened wrongly if not for the intervention of his mother, Elizabeth. What name hav...

A New Creation

Image
2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 4:17-32 In our texts the common phrase is “ in Christ.” Knowing what it means to be in Christ is fundamental to understanding our topic “A New Creation” To be in Christ means to be immersed/ surrounded in the life of Christ and at the same time separated/ excluded from every external influences. It means adoption by faith into the life of God and separated from the world standards and principles. Implications for Being “in Christ” Anyone that's in Christ is automatically transformed into a New Creation (2 Cor. 5:17). Being “in Christ” implies that:  1.  We become one with Christ/ come in oneness with Christ. Gal. 2:20; Gal. 4:7. to become one with Christ means we are now partakers of His divine nature. We are joint heirs together with Christ of heavenly riches. 2.  We have positional advantage. Ephesians 1:19-23; Ephesians 2:4-6. This means that our being in Christ makes us seat with Christ in the heaven places far above unclean spirits and s...

The Power of Choice: A Deciding Tool in Destiny

Image
The power of choice is a fundamental gift from God, woven into the fabric of human existence. From the beginning, God granted humanity the freedom to choose, as seen in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:16-17). This ability to choose is what distinguishes humans from other creatures, allowing us to reflect God’s image (Genesis 1:27). Biblically, our choices carry profound consequences. Deuteronomy 30:19 emphasizes this when God sets before Israel “life and death, blessings and curses,” urging them to choose life. This highlights that while God offers guidance, the decision rests with us. Proverbs 3:5-6 further teaches the importance of trusting in God’s wisdom rather than leaning on our understanding when making choices. The New Testament continues this theme. In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus speaks of two paths—one leading to life, the other to destruction—illustrating the eternal significance of our decisions. Galatians 6:7-8 warns that we reap what we sow, emphasizing that ou...
