THE NUMBER "8"


Today, I bring you counsel from the Lord. And I would like to start by bringing to you the significance of the number 8. 

It is known that the number 8 is the number of christening. A child is christened always on the 8th day just as it was with John the Baptist (Luke 1:59). Zachariah, John's father had lost his speech when John was born. So it was suggested that the child be named after his father on the 8th day, the christening day. But the mother said no, and declared that the child's name shall be John!

There's a connection between your name and your destiny. Jesus in Luke 2:21 was given a name as received of the angel before conception on the 8th day. When you hear people's name, you could almost tell their destiny. You can possibly tell where they are coming from and where they are going. Some people have been named wrongly which has affected their destiny.  John would have been christened wrongly if not for the intervention of his mother, Elizabeth. What name have you been given that you're not meant to answer to? What name have you been answering to that is contradicting your destiny? Rejoice! For it's the 8th month. You have an opportunity to rename yourself. Gen 2:19.

God had to change the name of Abram and Sarai before they could fulfill destiny. In Jabez and Mary's case, it was the meaning of their name He changed. He had to reintroduce their names and meaning to suit His purpose. The same He could do for you if you will ask him; either for a change of name or change of meaning. For some, they've been answering their right names, but they are yet to live in the reality of their names. Daniel and Jesus were said to live without weakness because their names embodied their reality. Can you declare with me:

I enforce the prophetic meaning of my name.

I begin to live in the reality of my name.

Who are you?

What is your name?

Joseph said I am Joseph!

What do you answer?

 

The Number 8 also symbolizes sowing. It is a season of sowing. Don't eat all your seeds. It is your time to plant. You might have missed the first season, don't miss this one. Leviticus 25:22Harvest is usually more than what was planted.

What are you planting? Do you even have what to plant?

The way of God is not to waste resources. As long as earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest will not cease...

Can you ask that the Lord help you to recognize seasons.

Dr Mike Murdock said one of the greatest secret of successful people is discernment — ability to recognize difference.

Ask for grace to recognize difference in seasons.

Finally, The spirit of God coordinates the move of God over your life. It is not just for prophecy and gymnastics. Numbers 11:31 

Request of the Lord to let His spirit move on your behalf and gather resources for your living and satisfaction.

CONNECTING TO THE LIFTER OF HEADS

In Psalm 3:1-3 and 1 Samuel 2:7, we're reminded that God is the lifter of heads. He has a history of elevating individuals from humble beginnings to positions of power and influence. Let's look at a few examples: - Joseph became the prime minister - Abraham became the father of nations - Aaron became a priest - Esther became a queen - David, a shepherd boy, became a king - Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego became relevant Only God can lift someone from the dungeon to a place of prominence. Divine lifting means receiving favor from both God and men (Proverbs 3:4). It's about moving from debt to prosperity (2 Samuel) and from the tail to the head (Deuteronomy 28:14). When we seek the kingdom of God, we're automatically connected to the lifter of heads, and He will lift us up (1 Samuel 2:7). The Power of Choice: A Deciding Tool in Destiny

The power of choice is a fundamental gift from God, woven into the fabric of human existence. From the beginning, God granted humanity the freedom to choose, as seen in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:16-17). This ability to choose is what distinguishes humans from other creatures, allowing us to reflect God’s image (Genesis 1:27). Biblically, our choices carry profound consequences. Deuteronomy 30:19 emphasizes this when God sets before Israel “life and death, blessings and curses,” urging them to choose life.
