The Place of Sacrifice — 2 Chronicles 7:11-16
We are in a season where we are calling on God on behalf of our nation. And as we pray for our nation, it's important that we ensure our approach is effective. Solomon sets up a place called the temple. And the Bible says he set his heart to build it. Then, it was a success. Note: You can't achieve success on a thing if your mind is not on it. And from the story, we can learn valuable lessons. God chose the temple as the place of sacrifice and promised to hear prayers made there (2 Chronicles 7:14-15). However, He requires: 1. Humility 2. Prayer 3. Seeking His face 4. Turning from wickedness. The place of sacrifice has four characteristics: 1. House of worship (2 Chronicles 7:12, MSG) 2. Place of prayer (2 Chronicles 7:14-15) 3. Place of honor (2 Chronicles 7:16, NLT) 4. Holy place (2 Chronicles 7:16) The place of sacrifice is the temple.
