The Place of Sacrifice — 2 Chronicles 7:11-16

Image
We are in a season where we are calling on God on behalf of our nation. And as we pray for our nation, it's important that we ensure our approach is effective.  Solomon sets up a place called the temple. And the Bible says he set his heart to build it. Then, it was a success. Note: You can't achieve success on a thing if your mind is not on it. And from the story, we can learn valuable lessons. God chose the temple as the place of sacrifice and promised to hear prayers made there (2 Chronicles 7:14-15). However, He requires: 1. Humility 2. Prayer 3. Seeking His face 4. Turning from wickedness. The place of sacrifice has four characteristics: 1. House of worship (2 Chronicles 7:12, MSG) 2. Place of prayer (2 Chronicles 7:14-15) 3. Place of honor (2 Chronicles 7:16, NLT) 4. Holy place (2 Chronicles 7:16) The place of sacrifice is the temple. And our bodies are God's temples which should be kept holy and honoured (Romans 12:1) We cannot claim to be God's temple and be foun...

*Heal Our Land 2 Chronicles 7:14*

Image
God's heart beats for the healing and restoration of nations. However, sin and disobedience have ravaged our world, leaving sickness and suffering in their wake. But there's hope! Prayer and repentance can bring healing. *The Need for Healing* We face various forms of sickness: 1. Spiritual sickness (Revelation 3:17) - complacency and lukewarmness. 2. Moral decay (Isaiah 5:20) - distorted values and ethics. 3. Economic hardship (Deuteronomy 28:15-68) - financial struggles and inequality. 4. Social injustice (Isaiah 1:23) - oppression and inequality. *Conditions for Healing* To experience healing, we must: 1. Humble ourselves (2 Chronicles 7:14). 2. Pray fervently (James 5:16). 3. Repent wholeheartedly (Acts 3:19). 4. Seek God's face (Psalm 27:8). *Our Role in Healing* We can contribute to national healing through: 1. Intercession (1 Timothy 2:1-4) - praying for leaders and nations. 2. Evangelism (Matthew 28:18-20) - sharing God's love. 3. Supporting righteous leaders (1...

Healing for Our Land

Image
We need healing in our land because we have forsaken our God by following other gods. As a nation, Nigeria has served idols, provoking God's jealousy. Our God desires exclusive worship and will not share His glory with false gods (Exodus 20:3-5). When we deviate from God, He can change His mind concerning promises made to us (1 Samuel 15:11). Let us pray that God's hand remains upon us. Consequences of Forsaking God: - Sicknesses (Deuteronomy 28:15-68) - Scarcity and hardship (Leviticus 26:14-20) - Uprooting from the land (Deuteronomy 28:63-64) Our land, created by God on the third day (Genesis 1:9-12), needs healing. Prayer for Healing: - Lord, reset our brains (Romans 12:2) - Turn back from idolatry to the one true God - Have mercy upon me, Father; heal every polluted and corrupted area of my life - Release Your glory, honor, and power upon me (Exodus 33:18) - Separate me and my family from evil and calamity (Exodus 12:13, Psalm 91:1) - Turn scarcity to surplus and abundance ...

HEAL Our LAND, OH LORD* *Text: 2 Chronicles 7:14*

Image
Nigeria, our beloved country, is in God's hands. Despite numerous obstacles and challenges, we remain standing by His mercy. The devil knows that Nigeria's rise will uplift many lives and African nations. Healing our land requires collective responsibility as a nation and soldiers for Christ. It begins with individual, family, community, and national repentance. *The Process for Healing Our Land* A. The Type of People (2 Chronicles 7:14a) B. Our Part Must Be Fulfilled (2 Chronicles 7:14b) C. God's Intervention for Healing (2 Chronicles 7:14c) *God's Desire: Our Worship* (Exodus 4:23) *The Power of Our Tongue* (Proverbs 18:21) Be mindful of your words; speak positively about Nigeria, your life, and destiny. God created the world with words; our words have creative power. *God's Intervention* 1. God will hear from heaven. 2. God will forgive our sins. 3. God will heal our land. *Our Part* 1. Humility (Proverbs 3:34, Jonah 1:2, 3:1-10) 2. Prayer (Luke 18:1-8)     - Med...

Heal Our Land, Oh Lord (2 Chronicles 7:11-15)

Image
To obtain deliverance and healing for our nation, we must undertake four critical steps: 1. Humble Ourselves Recognizing our failures as believers, we must humble ourselves and repent of our sins. The state of our nation reflects the state of the church. 2. Pray for Mercy We must completely depend on God and trust Him to intervene. Prayer is crucial; without it, our experiences are mere child's play. 3. Seek God's Face To seek God's face, we must cultivate patience. 4. Turn from Wicked Ways Genuine repentance is essential for healing and revival. Conditions for Healing and Revival: After completing these four steps, God will: - Hear from heaven - Forgive our sins - Heal our land Jeremiah 1:8-10 reminds us that we are God's vessels, and we must position ourselves for His guidance. The Power of Our Words Our words hold power, and we can uproot or plant what we desire in our nation. We must make positive confessions about Nigeria to experience God's healing. Isaiah 4:4...

*The Gravity of Repentance in Healing Our Land

Image
"According to all that I show you, that is the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, just so you shall make it." - Exodus 25:9 Repentance in our land carries immense expectations and demands. To stand before God on behalf of the people, one must first stand before Him personally. Reflect on the revelations God has given you, the notes you've taken. Are you building according to His pattern? This is the path to repentance. Healing our land requires adherence to God's design. Murdering or fine-tuning the picture He gave you will hinder repentance. (2 Chronicles 7:11-22, Proverbs 28:13, Deuteronomy 21:18-22, Romans 6:1-5, 10:9-10, Luke 3:17) Repentance is an action word, necessitating confession and forsaking. Surrender your stubbornness and rebelliousness to Jesus, our land's Elder. Understanding God's laws and wisdom is crucial. This transformation begins with each of us, called by God, through daily repentance. No one can save themselves, but we...

*This Is My Story, You Are My Song

Image
Are you burdened by the state of your life and our nation? The root of our problems is sin, and it's rampant in our world. This is a spiritual battle between Satan and God. *The Battle* Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." It's time for God's people to put on their spiritual armor (Ephesians 6:10-18) and take a stand. *The Battle Plan* 2 Chronicles 7:14 provides the battle plan to restore and heal our land: "If my people, who are called by my name, humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." *Our Part* 1. *Humble Ourselves*: Recognize our arrogance and pride (1 Samuel 2:3, James 4:6). See ourselves as God sees us (Ecclesiastes 7:20, Romans 3:23). 2. *Pray*: Prayer makes a ...

*Excellent Leadership

Image
What our nation urgently needs is a leader who embodies the spirit of a healer. Excellence implies possessing exceptional qualities in high degree, inspiring admiration and grandeur. *Examples of Excellent Leaders* - Daniel (Daniel 6:3-4, 1:2-6) - Jesus (Luke 2:52), who grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and people. An excellent spirit is characterized by: 1. *Discipline*: Leaders must be disciplined (Daniel 1:8). Daniel recognized Babylon's idolatry and resolved not to defile himself. 2. *Determination*: Excellence demands daring to be different (Daniel 2:16). Excellent leaders initiate change. 3. *Social Connection*: Build relationships for consultation and collaboration (Daniel 2:17). 4. *Thankfulness*: Excellence requires gratitude (Daniel). 5. *Prayer*: Consult divinity through prayer (Daniel 5:14). 6. *Wise Words*: Speak wisely (Proverbs). 7. *Integrity*: Be honest and reliable. 8. *Teachability*: Remain open to learning. 9. *Goal-Oriented*: Focus on achieving object...

Vibrant Economy

Image
We cry to God because He alone can heal our land. The term "land" encompasses various aspects of our lives, including individual, ministry, and economy. While economy can refer to multiple things, our focus here is on financial sustainability. Jesus taught His disciples about the kingdom of God through parables, with one-third of them related to money and resources (Matthew 13:34, 18, 22, etc.). Money is crucial for every believer, serving as a tool for good or evil. As believers, we use it for God's glory (2 Chronicles 7:12-14, Ecclesiastes 10:5). God is aware of everything, including our financial struggles. He can provide for His people, but the timing of His answers is in His hands. We must engage mercy and stay alert in prayer. Policy-making is essential in governance. What is your personal financial policy? What policies has the government implemented to ensure prosperity? Have you made decisions to manage resources sustainably? Nigeria, despite being rich in natu...

The Act of God's Righteousness in Building a Nation

Image
Righteousness is the foundation of God's character and actions. It's the backbone of building a nation. As leaders, we must understand that we can't be on the same level as our followers; wisdom must differentiate us. After salvation, water baptism is essential (Matthew 13:13). The Israelites experienced this when they left Egypt. Baptism publicly identifies our faith, sanctifies us, and cleanses us to replicate God's love (Ephesians 5:26). Power comes from a righteous lifestyle. Moses' story teaches us to follow God's order. Righteousness is a product of two things: God's nature and our actions. Jesus used parables to convey spiritual truths, encoded for those with understanding (Matthew 13:13). The mysteries of God are hidden, requiring discernment to decode. Righteousness is God's character, encoded in action (1 Timothy 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:21). The blood of Jesus reveals God's righteousness in humanity, changing our DNA. There are two types of r...

Breaking Free from Mammon's Grip

Image
Money dominates this world, but God's kingdom operates differently. Jesus never solicited funds in the Bible; instead, He taught the value of honest labor and fair compensation (Matthew 10:10). Joseph's circumstances confined him, but not his mindset. We should come to that point where our circumstances will not define our pursuit of God. When we say "Nigeria is hard," we often mean financially challenging. Our prayers become self-focused, rather than Jesus-centered. God created the world without money, demonstrating that believers can live without it. It's time to shift our focus. To heal our land, we must: 1. Redirect our attention to Jesus ( Revelation 18:8-13 ). 2. Seek repentance and turn away from mammon (idolatry). 3. Allow God to heal our understanding and perspective. Let's destroy every demonic operation promoting materialism and break Babylon's hold. Babylon's offerings come at the price of your soul. Don't trade your freedom for fleetin...

Open Door - Gateway to Bumper Harvest

Image
The door serves as a gateway to everything in eternity, and its significance cannot be overstated. In the book of Matthew, we learn that there is no light in the holies of holies, emphasizing the importance of access. When Jesus died on the cross, the door to salvation was opened, and His blood provided the key. Mercy became our access ( John 3 ). However, many believers struggle to access the next level of their lives due to closed doors. *The Enemy Within* The greatest enemy that can close doors is our own flesh. We must guard our hearts diligently and recognize that our flesh can hinder our spiritual growth. The story of Silas and Paul in prison ( Acts 16 ) illustrates the power of loving God and having open doors. *Accessing Bumper Harvest* To experience a bumper harvest, we need open doors ( Acts 8:22 ). However, when we close the door through lack of focus, commitment, and faithfulness (Nehemiah 6:1), we hinder our progress. *Rededicating Your Life* If you desire to rededicate yo...

Heart Check

Image
The state of our hearts is far from ideal, and this reflects in our actions. We're not fully committed to our endeavours. Consider Amaziah's story in 2 Chronicles 25:1-2 . He did what was right in the Lord's sight, but his heart wasn't loyal. Similarly, some of us serve God with a divided heart. This explains why we struggle to stand firm during challenges.  Psalm 24:3-6 reminds us that those who seek God must have a clean heart and holy hands. Our lack of wholehearted commitment hinders our prosperity. What hidden struggles are holding you back from fully surrendering to God? Shine the light of heaven on your heart: - If Jesus returned tonight, where would He find you? - What's your heart's state before the Lord? - Would you remain steadfast through trials? Reflect on these questions and align your heart with God's will. ©️ Pst Daniel Adeyemi
