- Daniel (Daniel 6:3-4, 1:2-6)

- Jesus (Luke 2:52), who grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and people.


An excellent spirit is characterized by:


1. *Discipline*: Leaders must be disciplined (Daniel 1:8). Daniel recognized Babylon's idolatry and resolved not to defile himself.


2. *Determination*: Excellence demands daring to be different (Daniel 2:16). Excellent leaders initiate change.


3. *Social Connection*: Build relationships for consultation and collaboration (Daniel 2:17).


4. *Thankfulness*: Excellence requires gratitude (Daniel).


5. *Prayer*: Consult divinity through prayer (Daniel 5:14).


6. *Wise Words*: Speak wisely (Proverbs).


7. *Integrity*: Be honest and reliable.


8. *Teachability*: Remain open to learning.


9. *Goal-Oriented*: Focus on achieving objectives.


10. *Enthusiasm*: Display passion and energy.

In Psalm 3:1-3 and 1 Samuel 2:7, we're reminded that God is the lifter of heads. He has a history of elevating individuals from humble beginnings to positions of power and influence. Let's look at a few examples: - Joseph became the prime minister - Abraham became the father of nations - Aaron became a priest - Esther became a queen - David, a shepherd boy, became a king - Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego became relevant Only God can lift someone from the dungeon to a place of prominence. Divine lifting means receiving favor from both God and men (Proverbs 3:4). It's about moving from debt to prosperity (2 Samuel) and from the tail to the head (Deuteronomy 28:14). From the beginning, God granted humanity the freedom to choose, as seen in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:16-17). This ability to choose is what distinguishes humans from other creatures, allowing us to reflect God’s image (Genesis 1:27). Biblically, our choices carry profound consequences. Deuteronomy 30:19 emphasizes this when God sets before Israel “life and death, blessings and curses,” urging them to choose life.
