The Power of Choice: A Deciding Tool in Destiny


The power of choice is a fundamental gift from God, woven into the fabric of human existence. From the beginning, God granted humanity the freedom to choose, as seen in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:16-17). This ability to choose is what distinguishes humans from other creatures, allowing us to reflect God’s image (Genesis 1:27).

Biblically, our choices carry profound consequences. Deuteronomy 30:19 emphasizes this when God sets before Israel “life and death, blessings and curses,” urging them to choose life. This highlights that while God offers guidance, the decision rests with us. Proverbs 3:5-6 further teaches the importance of trusting in God’s wisdom rather than leaning on our understanding when making choices.

The New Testament continues this theme. In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus speaks of two paths—one leading to life, the other to destruction—illustrating the eternal significance of our decisions. Galatians 6:7-8 warns that we reap what we sow, emphasizing that our choices shape our spiritual destiny. It's another privilege for you to choose Jesus this day for your destiny to be successful. Make up your mind to accept Jesus and His love into your heart, and this decision of yours will lead you to eternal life and abundant living. 

Ultimately, the Bible teaches that the power of choice is both a responsibility and a privilege. It calls us to align our decisions with God’s will, seeking His guidance through prayer and scripture to live a life that honours Him.

Confession: I choose Jesus this day to be my Lord and my Saviour, come into my life and be the king, I accept the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus in my life, from today I'm now the child of God, blot out all.my transgression and lead me to a newness of life in Him. AMEN.

1. Father, thank you for the enabling grace to choose Jesus. 

2. Father, help my choice in destiny, I want to accept whatever you choose for my destiny. 

3. FATHER, I choose to serve Jesus to the end of my days.

CONNECTING TO THE LIFTER OF HEADS

In Psalm 3:1-3 and 1 Samuel 2:7, we're reminded that God is the lifter of heads. He has a history of elevating individuals from humble beginnings to positions of power and influence. Let's look at a few examples: - Joseph became the prime minister - Abraham became the father of nations - Aaron became a priest - Esther became a queen - David, a shepherd boy, became a king - Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego became relevant Only God can lift someone from the dungeon to a place of prominence. Divine lifting means receiving favor from both God and men (Proverbs 3:4). It's about moving from debt to prosperity (2 Samuel) and from the tail to the head (Deuteronomy 28:14).
